On Service and Standards

Our initial encounter with medical retail was during my senior year in college (2012). I was a medical technology intern at UST when my friend and I proposed a side project to our student council.

We had a class where we needed to learn how to draw blood, so we offered to provide 'Blood Extraction or Phlebotomy Kits' to our juniors.

The intent was to serve medical products that we will use ourselves as professionals.

After duty hours, we sourced for medical consumables like syringes, and blood collection tubes. Then we repack everything in individual boxes ready for the students to use. This project ran for 6 years, and we're humbled to receive positive feedback each time.

I went on to pursue a career in medicine. Being in the same university, we had the perfect condition to carry out our service. I didn't need to travel far to send quotations for our client. On estimate, we served around 3,000+ kits before putting the project to a close.

With 6 years of trust, we gained a basic understanding of medical retail and customer service.

Deep Dive

The following years proved a challenge. Ahead were four years of medical school plus a year of post graduate internship. My firsthand training provided a deep scope of how our healthcare systems work. One pain point I experienced is that quality medical supplies are difficult to find.

All the more, I realized a calling to serve in medical sales and distribution.

I registered Merritmed PH shortly after passing the boards. To widen our supplier base, we attended the China Medical Equipment Fair 2019 held in Shanghai. This was a major networking event where distributors and manufacturers meet for commerce.

Meanwhile, we continued to build our presence in the local market, and has been prudent in crafting the brand since.

Ars Longa, Vita Brevis

We understand that healthcare providers dedicate a lifetime to be adept in serving others. 'The art is long, yet life, short' as Hippocrates puts it.

In return and appreciation, we commit to maintain a level of respect for our local healthcare community. We pursue this by making our business centered on quality medical products, and reliable customer care.

As we grow, we want to become a company that means to serve you first.
